Native Animals in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico has several native animals. But, the most important animal that can be only found in Puerto Rico is called the "coquí." The coquí is a very small tree frog about one inch long. Some "coquíes" look green, some brown and some yellowish, actually they are translucent. The "coquíes" have a high pitched sound and can be heard from far away. The other native animal is "la cotorra puertorriqueña which is a parrot of color bright green with a red spot in the front head and with blue wings. It measures approximately 12 inches. The fauna in Puerto Rico is very beautiful and these two species can only survive in Puerto Rico.
